Hey everyone!

I’m a UX designer currently researching how people manage IBS in everyday situations (ingredient checking, identifying trigger foods, travelling, symptom tracking, etc.).

I’m working on a project aimed at reducing some of the stress and uncertainty around food decisions, and I’d love to hear about real experiences from people who deal with IBS.

I’ve made a short questionnaire that takes a few minutes to complete. Any responses would really help with the research and design process.

Thanks a lot - I really appreciate it.

IBS App Research

Hey everyone! I’m a UX designer currently researching how people manage IBS in everyday situations (ingredient checking, identifying trigger foods, travelling, symptom tracking, etc.).

I’m working on a project aimed at reducing some of the stress and uncertainty around food decisions, and I’d love to hear about real experiences from people who deal with IBS.

I’ve made a short questionnaire that takes a few minutes to complete. Any responses would really help with the research and design process.

Here are the questions:

  1. Can you briefly describe your experience with IBS?

  2. When buying packaged food or drinks, how do you usually decide whether something is safe for you to eat?

  3. How often do you check ingredient labels before eating or drinking something?

  4. Are there any foods or ingredients you actively try to avoid?

  5. Have you ever tracked your meals, symptoms, or flare-ups before?

  6. When travelling overseas or eating foods with labels you can’t read, how do you usually decide what feels safe to eat?

  7. What is the hardest part about identifying what triggers your IBS?

  8. If an app could help you identify patterns between foods and flare-ups, what would make it genuinely useful for you?

Thanks a lot - I really appreciate it.
