Hi, I was hoping to get some advice. As you can see in the photos, my female cat has been over grooming herself down to skin. It’s been about a year and I have taken her to the vet several times. The first time being that she was constantly vomiting after every meal.
Couple of details that I think would be asked about:
We have a second cat, they’ve lived together for 4 years now. Not the biggest fans of one another but never anything beyond some hissing when one wants to play and the other not.
For the longest time she was on Iams orange bag. Vet said this could be a culprit of her vomiting. Switched to freshpet (transitioned of course) which helped the vomiting for a while but she started again. We have since switched to Crave which she seems to like and keeps down as well.
She has always been a bit anxious. Hides when people come over, doesn’t like being held, and hates thunder. But these are all things that never changed.
Doesn’t particularly like to play, but does occasionally. Indoors always.
We’ve tried salmon oil with food, seemed like it was helping but didn’t progress far.
We have lived in our home for 2 years now and like I said this started a year ago. After the vet said anxiety I added litter boxes, food and water to all floors (2 story with basement).
Vet every time just says it is likely anxiety due to our other cat but it just seems odd to me that their dynamic is no different. I think she said this because she was very skittish at the vet office.
I don’t know… I really just want her to be okay and curious if anyone has experienced something like this. She loves to snuggle still and realistically doesn’t act like she’s in pain. She is probably perfectly content being bald but everyone that visits think we neglect her :(
Thank you!
