Haleakalā sunset Monday afternoon
We had a reservation for sunrise on Monday 3/30 that was cancelled. Our itinerary was set for the rest of our trip so we were bummed that we would miss the summit.
With a stroke of good luck we got an email later that day that it reopened. We rushed to make it up there by sunset and got there with 20 minutes to spare. One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, being above the clouds covering the crater.
We are so thankful for all of the people involved in getting the road reopened, gave us a memory forever.
