Finished a base run this morning and got bumped into Garmin’s top 1% VO2 max (after sitting at 52 for a while). I know it’s just an estimate—and only vs Garmin users—but still feels like a nice milestone.

I started running seriously in Oct 2025 (age 49) with a Coach Greg 5K plan, then moved straight onto DSW. It’s been mostly easy/base runs, the odd harder session, and actually taking rest days (if it says recovery run, I rest).

But the best part isn’t the number—it’s how I feel fitter than ever. Being able to outrun my kids these days is pretty surreal.
