I recently encountered this problem—a black screen. I'd experienced several blue screens of death before this. Incidentally, my hard drive was always running at 100% before this. I then tried booting the PC without it, but the monitor still wouldn't respond. If anyone could share a possible solution, I'd be very grateful.
