Issues at border control even with settled status
I had issues at border control in the UK even though I’ve had settled status since 2020 as an EU national. I flew from the EU to the U.K. and the border control officer was shouting at me because she said she can’t see my passport registered to the settled status. I told her that I’ve checked this before travelling and it said it is added. We kept going round in circles and she kept shouting at me more and more and said it’s not there. I told her I’m not sure what she wants me to do right now as am sure it’s there. I offered to show her my EU ID card which is also registered and share code but she refused. I flew from the EU 3 weeks ago and had no issues at the same airport border control, which I also told her and she said she doesn’t care. I felt quite shaken as I hadn’t done anything wrong and she kept getting more aggressive and shouted at me. I’m going to call immigration to ask what the problem is but I worry if she put something on my file now and I will have further issues. I’m considering a British passport now but wonder if this situation will cause issues. She said she won’t let me in next time if I don’t sort this. I had no idea there was an issue till now so feel this is very unfair.
Has anyone had this before or have any suggestions? I still feel shaken by this 2 days later.
