Hi everyone! I’m an international student planning to apply to public universities in Spain for a bachelor’s in economics, and I’d really appreciate some advice.

I’m trying to find good universities with strong econ programs, preferably outside Madrid and Barcelona to try and save money (open to smaller cities or underrated places ). Also, are there any public universities that offer economics in English, or at least partly in English?

Would love to hear:

  • Which public universities are best for economics?
  • Are there any hidden gems outside the big cities?
  • How common are English-taught econ programs in public unis?
  • Anything I should know as an international applicant?

Thanks a lot in advance

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to study Economics in Italy as an international student (from the Philippines) and I’m trying to figure out the best city/university combination.

My main priorities are:

  • Low cost of living / affordable student life
  • Public university (tuition-friendly if possible)
  • Good Economics program
  • Opportunities for internships during or after studies
  • Reasonable chances of getting part-time work as a student

Right now, I’m considering Naples and southern cities like in Campania and Sicily because they're cheaper than the north and I also like the landscape and simple life style but I’m not sure which ones are actually worth it long-term for career opportunities in economics/finance/business.

I’ve heard mixed opinions about studying in the north vs south of Italy, especially in terms of job and internship access after graduation.

Would really appreciate any advice, especially from people currently studying in Italy or who have experience with economics programs there.

Thanks in advance!
