Today, in front of coworkers and patients, a coworker randomly asked me if I have a stutter. I said yes, and then she said she has an uncle like me. What bothered me wasn’t even the question itself, but the timing and the fact that she asked in front of everyone. It’s already obvious that I stutter, so being put on the spot like that made me feel really embarrassed and uncomfortable.
I don’t think she meant to be rude, but I honestly hated the way it happened. I kinda feel like she did it on purpose to embarrass me.
