An outage that isn't an outage but is an outage...
UPDATE: Used the chat bot to troubleshoot. Got nowhere. Agreed to have a technician visit. They said one would be here in twenty minutes(!!) and he was here in five. All problems fixed in under an hour. Somehow the cable boxes had been removed from my bill? I don't know. It all works now and the new modem I was avoiding got installed by a professional instead of me so headache avoided.
Fantastic technician, horrible chat bot. Spectrum still gets a win now and then.

I still have cable boxes (don't judge). Tried to watch tv tonight. Got "To Restore or Active Services Call (spectrum customer service)" message on both boxes. Called. The computer voice said my area was in an outage (expected restoration 11 pm) & did I want a phone call when service was restored? I said Yes.
Got a call 10 minutes later (it's only 8:25 here now, so it was not 11) that service was restored.
Service was not restored.
Called back.
Computer voice said it might take 10 to 45 minutes for the systems to update.
Still getting the same "To Restore or Activate" screen more than 45 minutes later.
Given that a couple weeks ago there was an outage of all services (expected restoration also 11 pm, funnily enough) but the site said no outage after about twenty minutes... I guess I'll just hope cable is back tomorrow.
Spectrum is getting seriously ridiculous.
