Delay Internship start date? possible?
Hi! I am a 2nd year electrical engineering student at UOA, and I've been looking at internships. I've noticed most internships are from 16th ish November - mid Feb. Although this is regarding next year, I thought I should just ask in advance. So, I have somewhere where and will not be in nz until 27th or so November. I haven't gotten an internship yet, but let's say if I do, does anyone know if companies allow you to start 1-2 weeks after the start date? Does anyone have experience doing that? Also, when would be the best time to let the company know that you cannot start on time? During the interview process or once you've gotten an offer? I need to get my 800 hours in but unfortunately, I think during both my 3rd and 4th year, I won't be able to begin my internship on time. Any advice would be appreciated.
