Hair Transplant with Dr Bek – My Experience (2468 Grafts)
After a few years of trying to hide my hairline with different styles, I finally decided to bite the bullet and go for a transplant.
I’m writing this because, honestly, the only reason I found and trusted Dr Bek was through other people’s reviews. So if you’re on the fence, hopefully this helps you make a decision with a bit more confidence.
I spent around 3 months researching different doctors. By the end of it, I’d seen enough of Dr Bek’s work and results to know he was the one I wanted to go with.
Booking Process
Booking was straightforward – everything is done via WhatsApp. He’s very busy (as you’d expect from a top surgeon), so don’t be put off if it takes a day or so to get a reply.
I sent over photos, and he gave me an estimate. We initially planned for around 3000 grafts (2500 for the front, 500 for the crown).
Honesty & Consultation
When I arrived, he reassessed and actually advised that my crown didn’t need doing – it was just thinning, not balding. That meant fewer grafts and less cost. He could easily have gone ahead and charged more, but didn’t. That stood out straight away and says a lot about his integrity.
Arrival & First Impressions
I arrived in Ankara on the 17th and met Dr Bek on the 18th.
First impressions really matter, especially when you’re in a different country for a medical procedure. He was extremely polite, calm, and professional from the start. He organised all the travel arrangements, and when I had an issue with my card, he even covered my taxi to the clinic.
His English is excellent as well – there was no language barrier at all, which made everything much easier.
Within 10 minutes of speaking to him, any nerves I had were gone. He explains everything clearly, takes his time, and never makes you feel rushed. Genuinely one of the most polite and respectful people I’ve met, and that made a big difference on the day.
The Team & Procedure
There’s a team of three, including another surgeon trained by Dr Pekiner, so there’s a lot of experience in the room.
Dr Bek also provided lunch and snacks throughout the day, which was a nice touch.
In terms of pain – honestly, nothing. I didn’t feel any part of the procedure. I spent most of the day watching films. The hardest part was just sitting still for so long.
Final Numbers
We ended up doing 2468 grafts, focused on the hairline and front.
This cost £4916
One thing I also really appreciated – after a long day that ran later than expected, he personally drove me back to my hotel. He didn’t have to do that, but it sums him up: professional, considerate, and genuinely a very good guy.
I’ll update this with progress photos over the next few months.
