I’ve been trying to install Kubuntu 26.04 several times with different usb sticks and it either gets stuck booting or at 70% “Creating initramfs” any ideas what might be going on?

I also tried installing Ubuntu and although it boots and runs incredibly slow, it finishes the installation properly. I’m thinking of giving up and install Ubuntu and install KDE on top since I don’t see a way around, but I’d like to have an idea what’s going on.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, this is in a thinkpad p16s with 32gb of ram and 1TB HD.
