Hi, I’ve been looking for a place for a while now, and every time I try, rent just keeps going up. I’m looking for a studio or a 1-bedroom suite/house to live on my own. My maximum budget is $1600 all included. I’m mainly searching around Burnside, Saanich Core, or Downtown.
Honestly, I’m getting a bit desperate. I can’t find anything reasonable anymore. I’m even seeing rooms with private bathrooms in shared houses going for $1500, which is honestly ridiculous. Why do landlords think they can keep raising rents like this?
I’m working full-time and making more than minimum wage, and even then it still feels impossible to live like a normal human being.
