A week ago, I ordered batting gloves for my son on Uber and the driver got all the way to my complex and then left. He didn’t respond to my messages or calls asking if he was lost and never tried to contact me.
Next thing I know, the app shows the gloves were delivered back to the same store address where they were bought and uber won’t refund my $202 (!!!) including fees and tip.
I wrote to them via Order Help function multiple times and kept getting a canned “sorry no refund, next time ensure your order details were correct.” My details were correct and the driver either stole or returned to the store the item and uber got a refund they’re not passing on.
I disputed the charge with Amex and provided documentation of what occurred but now I can’t use an Uber or order anything without them trying to force me to pay them $202 which I am not going to do for an item which was never delivered due to driver incompetence and shows delivered back to the store.
How do you speak to a live agent because this is ridiculous! This is extortion.
