Here’s a quick history of my tooth, I’m a teeth grinder and wear night guard every night. I tend to have tooth cracking issues. One time I had a painful tooth for 2 years and the dentist didn’t find anything until later she did a filling and it fixed the pain, I wish they could’ve discovered it sooner, but I’m happy with the outcome.

Recently I’m getting laid off my work and I’m losing my insurance, I have a tiny sensitivity in one of my other tooth, so I thought maybe I get it filled before it gets worse like my other tooth

This time the clinic gave me a new dentist, I wasn’t super comfortable with a new dentist but I thought my teeth wasn’t so sensitive and it will just be a quick top up of my old filling.

After the filling, she said I might need a crown? I thought that was kinda extreme but it did make me worry.

Next day I was having a rice cracker and immediately I felt this extreme pain in my tooth, I felt around my tooth it seems just one single spot, I got even more worried and called my dentist and asked for my old dentist to take a look.

After the check up we waited two weeks and my old dentist put on a sedative protective dressing on my effected area yesterday and we are going to give it 5 month before trying to redo the filling.

Today I tried rice cracker again, it’s slightly better but still quite painful, so hopefully it will get better in 5 months.

I wonder, did the new dentist crack my tooth when she’s drilling it? How can a normal filling turn into “needing a crown and root canal” situation, I really regretted going and possible messed my tooth and might pay thousands after cause I want to keep my tooth.

What do you guys think of my situation?
