Looking for advice for updating exterior of home
First-time homeowner here and I recently moved into this house. I’m starting to think about exterior updates and would love some opinions/suggestions on colors and overall style direction.
A few ideas I’ve been considering:
- Changing the color of the garage door, front door, and shutters (not a fan of the current dull green)
- Wrapping the metal porch columns with some type of wood/wood-look finish
- Adding landscaping/mulch/bushes to the left side of the porch
My initial thought was to go with black or dark brown accents, but I’m not sure if there are better options that would work well with the current vinyl siding color.
I’d especially appreciate:
- Color suggestions for doors/shutters
- Thoughts on black vs white vs wood-tone accents
- Any landscaping ideas that would modernize the exterior without going overboard
