Medical Clearance for Cruise Ship Jobs With Controlled Health Conditions?

wanted to ask if anyone here works on cruise ships while having some controlled medical conditions.

I had varicose vein surgery before, with a small recurrence later, and I also had bowel obstruction surgery in the past.

My blood pressure is under control with medication, and my cholesterol is currently improving with medicine and diet. I’m also working on reducing my BMI.

The main thing worrying me is that during an effort/stress test, doctors noticed something doubtful and asked me to do a coronary CT scan. Nothing is confirmed yet. I also take medication for extra heartbeats/palpitations, and I heard it can return to normal.

I’m applying for cruise ship receptionist/front desk positions, so I wanted to ask:

How strict are cruise medical exams really?

Has anyone passed while taking medication for blood pressure or heart rhythm?

Would previous surgeries automatically cause rejection?

I’d appreciate honest experiences from current or former cruise staff.

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to find a job in the hospitality industry in Saudi Arabia (seasonal or long-term; both are fine).

I have experience working during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar with Qatar Airways (F&B), and in Luxury boutique cave hotels in Cappadocia (front office & guest relations). I’m used to international guests and busy environments.

I speak Arabic, French, English, and Turkish fluently.

I’m a bit lost on the best way to get in without paying expensive agencies. If anyone has advice, contacts, or knows reliable ways to apply, I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks a lot 🙏

Hi everyone,

I’m urgently looking for a job opportunity. I graduated as an IT Helpdesk Support Technician and completed an internship at the headquarters of Arab Tunisian Bank (ATB).

I have international experience, working with Qatar Airways as a Food Server, and in Turkey in luxury hotels in Cappadocia as a Receptionist, Guest Experience Associate, and Senior Waiter.

I speak English fluently and can communicate in Turkish and French.

I’m open to different opportunities and available to start immediately. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you 🙏
