Moving to Brooklyn in August (from CA). Lived in Williamsburg last summer, loved it, so that's an option. Any other neighborhoods I should look at? I want to be around a lot of action and liveliness, not one of those neighborhoods where everyone has a doodle and is pushing a stroller. I can afford a 5k rent, would prefer 2BR if possible, don't need a lot of amenities in the building - more interested in the neighborhood being fun. Suggestions?

I'm moving to BK in August and trying to figure out where I want to live. I'm in my 50s, single, v social. Lived in Williamsburg last summer and loved it so that's def an option. Where else should I look? I work from home so don't need specific subway line for commute. Want to be near a lot of action - good bars, restaurants, stores. I don't want to be in one of the neighborhoods that's all young families pushing strollers. (Also I want a pretty nice place, if possible 2 BR for up to 5k). Suggestions?
