Hi everyone, my_qualifications - I’m a BTech CSE student from Chennai, currently finishing my 2nd year (May 2026), and I’m seriously planning to do my Master’s in Canada.Main issue is pretty obvious — fees + cost of living. That’s honestly the only thing holding me back.

I have a CGPA of 9 right now, and over the next 2 years I’m planning to build strong projects (AI/ML, IoT) and maybe try for some research as well.I’m mainly looking at public universities (like Alberta, Calgary, McMaster, Ottawa, etc.) where I might have a decent chance at scholarships.

A few things I really want honest clarity on:

• What scholarships are actually realistic for someone like me?...not just the super rare ones

• Is it possible to get good funding without going full research route?...like course-based masters

• Which universities/courses give better chances of lower fees or funding?

• Rough total cost after scholarships + part-time work?

• How hard is it to get RA/TA later on? ...something other than this if possible

I’m interested in AI,ML,Computer Science,IoT

Also slightly curious about space-tech related CS fields (not sure how realistic that is). Also being very honest...one of my goals is to eventually work and settle there, so I’m trying to understand the practical path.

If anyone has gone through this or is currently studying in Canada, I’d really appreciate your guidance...especially what you wish you knew earlier.
