Avoid “Love at First Sign” dating events.

Went to an event tonight and honestly it was one of the most uncomfortable and unprofessional experiences I’ve had at an event.

The men’s tickets were showing as sold out online and women’s tickets had been reduced, giving the impression the event was balanced and popular. In reality there were around 10 men and only 2 women there including myself.

The host also arrived around 30 minutes late despite the event stating a 7pm start, leaving everyone awkwardly standing around wondering what was going on. Speaking to venue staff, it sounds like this has apparently happened before as well.

I completely understand cancellations happen, but there has to be a point where an organiser says the ratios are too uneven and rearranges the event instead of putting attendees in an uncomfortable situation. As one of only two women there, it honestly felt intimidating and very uncomfortable at times...

People pay for tickets, transport, childcare/pet care and take time out of their weeknights to attend these events. The least organisers can do is run them professionally and honestly.

Personally, I would not recommend booking with them....not many of you will but i am just saving orhers from this experience

Just a wee update on the baggage situation as previous post. I’ve now properly measured my bag and it is within the allowed dimensions, as i said i have been checked multiple times with this baggage and never had any issues on 15 flights. So I’ll be disputing the charge. I understand airlines have rules and they can enforce them, but in this case I don’t believe it was applied correctly. I was charged €75 even though my bag meets the requirements, which was really frustrating and honestly put a dampener on an otherwise amazing trip. I’ll be submitting a complaint and seeing what comes of it. If anyone has had success challenging something similar, I’d be interested to hear how you went about it.

And if i did not check this properly and bought and oversized bag, I would put my hands up and say that I am in the wrong but in this case I am not. And yes I have had ryan air staff at my departure airport check this also.

I have also went and checked my previous history with Ryan air and this suitcase has been too:

Germany 5 times Spain 3 Belgium 2 Austria Poland Slovakia Hungry Ireland Portugal Malta Denmark Prague

Even the USA, Australia, nz, middle east and parts of Asia but obviously they dont count as those airlines have different regulations but you get my point- if the suitcase wasn't within Ryan air regulations, I would have been pulled up for it a long time ago...

**Thanks for all the comments but someone please tell me why this has been checked by staff previously and they did not fine me?? To me if this has been checked before then I would have had no reason to buy a new suitcase.....

So no I am not going on the basis of "ive gotten away with it many times"

I honestly could cry right now- i have flown ryan air many times. Probably around 21 countries with them now. I had cabin baggage and it was measured at my departure airport for dimensions and I suddenly get to Vienna and its measured again (my friend and others had ones that were much bigger) and it was over by the tip of my fingernail which I dont understand how it can fit at my departure airport.

I would have actually gone out and bought a new suitcase if that was the case and I have used this case on all my flights thus far and had no issues at all.

I was just fined 75 euros for this and everyone else with bigger cases went on, so tell me why I was singled out? Are they trying to meet a quota? Why wasnt my friends measured as well and she got to walk on ( I am glad she did, not saying I want her fined too). But why me?

If it was over by a lot I would take full responsibility for my negligence but its never been the case at all.

I will take this further but those staff members I get are doing there job but it just doesnt seem logical or fair to be singled out like that.

Really put a damper on things for me but its just a fine. Will not be flying with them for a while.
