Hey guys, Just wanted a bit of help here with a choice i’m trying to make. Currently I am in a spot where i can’t pick between the Rog Strix 240hz 1440p WOLED (XG27AQDMGR)
or the Rog Strix 360hz 1440p QD-OLED (XG27ACDNG) I also had seen the 280hz Tandem Oled (XG27AQWMG) but i’m not looking forward as much to it i just want to hear honest thoughts and opinions.
I need help because currently they are on discount
240hz 1440p is usually $650 and right now is $550. The 360hz is usually $760 and is now $630.
PC- I currently have a Ryzen 7 9850x3d and a AMD 9070xt. I haven’t even opened it but i’m unsure if i’ll even reach 360hz in games, So im unsure if i should get the 360hz If someone could also help me with that.
Panels- I love glossy coating a lot and the WOLED meets that but the QD-Oled gets the job done. I’ve also seen how blacks usually tend to turn purple for people and i plan playing in a warm color setting that’s white and brownish (cream) with somewhat a cream ambient light so I’m sure if that just throws off the QD-OLEDS blackness.
Looks(Monitor)- I like the way the 240hz due to the fact the bottom bezel on the 360hz looks kinda ugly to me but if i were to play in a dark room i’m sure i wont notice but preferably the looks on the 240hz looks better.
Quality- As stated before i dont know if my pc will meet 360hz expectations but i do hope it does. Also what i tend to keep hearing is how the QD-OLED looks richer in color rather then the WOLED.
Brightness- I would want to have a bright screen but not so bright to the point it blinds me. Usually WOLEDS look dimmer but compared to the QD-OLED there is definitely a difference.
Performance- I don’t know if there’s much difference between the 240hz or the 360hz. I’m unsure if it’s even worth paying much more for something so minimal.
Pricing- I don’t know if i should honestly go for the 360hz as there is a price difference of $110 without any discounts between the both. ($650-$760and right now since they are on discount i also don’t know if it’s worth the $80 difference for 120hz. ($550-$630. As i also stated previously, I had seen the Tandem Oled and it’s not on discount and is firm at $650. I’m not sure if that’s worth it as i could get 360hz for $20 less so i think it’s ridiculous but I would like to know what you guys think.
That is how i plan to have my room looking by the middle of this month. It won’t be so identical but practically the closest it could get. I will turn of those lights here and there for more focus and concentration on the game rather than aesthetics.
