My DISA valve has been spotty. Sometimes my engine is super sluggish at low revs, but wakes up at 4k or so. So today i took the DISA valve out to look at it and found that the connector on the wiring harness is missing the metal clip and some plastic is broken off that would retain that clip. It is not seating properly, and I think that might be the entire problem since it passed the check of turning the flap, plugging the hole and making sure it stays put.
Has anyone found a source for that plug? Rockauto doesn't have it. I can't find it on FCP Euro. I found this, but am not confident this is it. Opinions? The listing says it is for 80s and 90s BMWs, but the E46 is a little after that.
