Mandaluyong City (camera: Horizon Perfekt | film: Lucky C200)

Before I brought the Horizon Perfekt to La Union, I tested it first on a condominium rooftop in Mandaluyong one late afternoon to see if the camera was fully working. I missed the golden hour, so I had to open the aperture a little wider. I loaded the same Lucky C200 film that I used for the beach trip.

I finally got the Japanese Summilux

Now that I have the Canon LTM 50mm f/1.4, should I sell my Canon LTM 50mm f/1.8 (with slight haze) and my Industar 61 L/D?

Sample shots from my P500 film camera

I bought the camera body for P500 from a surplus store two years ago. I got it at a low price because it didn’t have a battery cover. I cleaned it and kept it in storage with the hopes of bringing it back to life once I could get hold of a battery cover or battery grip.

I got my first lens for it for free from one of our band’s roadies. He found this unmarked zoom lens in a rubbish bin and decided to give it to me since he knew I had this new hobby. I had no clue about the mount of the camera and tried it with my Olympus and Konica SLRs. A few days later, I retrieved the camera from storage and checked if the lens was compatible. It fits perfectly. I later sold the zoom lens and used part of the profit to buy a prime lens.

Late last year, I saw a Facebook ad selling a battery grip for a really low price. I took the gamble and bought it, not knowing if it would power up the camera. But it worked, and I was really happy to finally get to use this camera last Christmas season.

Patience really paid off.

Zoo field trip (camera: Canon Autoboy Tele 6 | film: Lucky C200)

My wife and I recently accompanied our son on his school field trip. I brought my favorite point-and-shoot camera because I knew the whole day would be busy and there would be no time to adjust manual settings or replace film rolls. This was also the first time I used Lucky C200 film.

Our first stop was the zoo, so everything was bathed in the morning light. Here are some of the photos I took there.

I wanted to try out the Reflx Lab 320D film roll and see how it compares to the 400D version. While doing an ocular for a project in Intramuros, I brought my favorite camera along to test this film. Here are some photos from my commute.

I really like the quality of this film. The grain looks finer than the 400D version, and it does not have the heavy halation often associated with cinema stocks. I’m looking forward to trying the Reflx Lab 640T once it’s available locally.

A friend of mine gave me this camera last year, but I only had the opportunity to try it out when my band performed in La Union last weekend. This was my first time trying a swing lens panoramic camera, so I was extra careful in lining up the shots, using a tripod whenever I can. I also taped the film door to avoid light leaks.

I used Lucky C200 film, which I think matches with this camera perfectly. I have another roll of C200 paired with another camera, and I’ll share the photos in a later post.

I wish I stood closer to the subjects so that the depth was maximized. It’s all good anyway, not bad for a first try.

The seller listed it as “junk, for display” due to the reflex mirror sticking up, but after turning the mirror lockup down, it’s working properly. The meter is working too.
