Accomondation owner asks me to fill in registration form
Booked accomondation 2 months in advance. There was a scheduled pre-payment which after it was made was non-refundable. There were issues to pay, a message kept coming up about hacker bots and an e-mail adress I should contact - I didn't. Payment went through though.
Now I receive first message from the accommondation just 6 days prior the booked dates. They give information about where the key safe is including photo, but tell me I need to provide them an e-mail adress and fill in a registration form in order to get the code to the key safe. I'm very reluctant to give out my personal information through messaging or e-mail, this seems strange to me?
I tried to contact booking.com but I don't know if my message got through or not, can't see any history or confirmation of it. If I cancel the booked accommondation I won't get a refund. Had I known this beforehand I would have chosen a different place.
What should I do now? I'm travelling in 3 days and the owners tell me I must fill the form completely, as it's required by law. Whereas everywhere on booking it says I shouldn't give out personal information. Also I've never experienced this before when booking.
Edit: It is Austria. I was sceptical as the property was a new listing with few reviews. Also that I kept getting the bot warning messages upon payment I wasn't sure what to make of it. Thanks for all replies.
