Attendance/Help/Advice??
TLDR: Ive been late almost everyday since working a second job and my first schedule being so early- don’t want to get fired or written up, what should i do?
So for the past month and a half i’ve been at least 15 minutes late to work everyday, i get scheduled for 7:00 am, but i have another job which goes super late around 12am in the morning. i do need both jobs because of bills/rent/transportation money in between the week that i don’t get paid since both jobs are biweekly but with my pay schedule i get paid from either one every week. it’s been super helpful and has made my life way easier than it was. the problem is, ive been late everyday this past month because i get off so late from my 2nd job. i’m thinking of just quitting it because i value working at starbucks more, it’s the perfect fit in my life for this moment and i’ve been here since i was 18, i’m 23 now. i also moved during the last month so that has been a factor, me being 15 minutes farther than my usual 5 minute commute from my job. my old SM did help me and was understanding of my schedule so she would schedule me in a way that would give me some leeway, so if i did wake up late due to my other job id still make it there on time. but we got a new manager and he’s been scheduling everybody a little odd, so i’ve been working way earlier than normal and it’s really taking a toll on me. i’m going to speak to them about changing my availability. i don’t want to lose my job because i know getting written up for attendance could cause that. and i just been getting a bad feeling everytime i am late. i’ve already gotten a correctional action twice in the last year, so idk how it works with it being taken off of my “record” persay but obviously my DM and SM can see my attendance and bring it up. what should i do?? any advice?
