I overheard a family member talk about a spaghetti dinner their ward is putting on to help the youth with summer activities(not sure if it was just young men or women were also included). It's $10 a plate per person and the thing is this its an old ward with tons of retirement people probably still paying tithing on their social security or retirement funds. I'm not even sure how many youth they have in the ward.
I'm just still gobsmacked that the Mormon church worth a 1/4 or 1/3 of a mind blowing fucking TRILLION dollars can't provide funds for this. I was a ward finance clerk and knew of wards were 95-98% of all tithing went to the motherland of Mormonism. For gods sake they convince members overworked, who popped out too many kids to take on, callings they have no time for, Saturday morning toilet cleanings. Also with a cherry on top those that live by a temple free late night Friday cleanings of the temple.
