I have just purchased a 1994 Willis bag and the leather is abraded and slightly faded but totally restorable. I have two other vintage Coach bags, a Bixby sling and a big 9992 backpack. Back when I got the Bixby, like 10 years ago, it was common to see people recommending literally washing the bags in water, then conditioning. I did that with the Bixby and it turned out fine, didn't fade it, but Bixby is definitely thinner leather than the Willis. I don't see that advice at all anymore. The Willis I just got is dirty--outside I can deal with, but inside it just smells dirty, musty. Not like a smoker, just old dirt. What's the latest advice about cleaning the interior?
