Shoulder bump mixed headstamp brass
I received around 2,000 cases of range pick-up 223 rem/5.56 that I am planning to load with 69 gn RMRs to use for 2-gun, 3-gun, etc. Trying to be a little more precise than I would for just 55 gn FMJ plinking ammo. Resizing all the cases on a Dillon 750 XL with a Hornady 223 rem FL resizing die. Trying to set my shoulder bump to no more than 0.005, using cases fired from my rifle as a reference. Being a mixed bag of every brass manufacturer known to man, I have some variance in shoulder bump, which I expected. Having sized ~100 cases so far, the majority are acceptable, however a few are 1-2 thousandths longer than my reference cases. Is it even worth the effort to try to minimize the headspace on these or am I better off just setting the die to guarantee I won't run into chambering problems?
