He doesn’t want to come to the wedding.
So my bf (24M) and I (24F) met in college. He got a job in Chicago afterwards but I stayed in California to pursue a masters degree. We have been together for over 3 years now and are closing in on one year of long distance. We plan to close the gap once i graduate.
The dilemma: My cousin is getting married and I will be a bridesmaid. The wedding is in Vegas so it’s a bit out of the way for both parties. I want him to attend but he says that he’d rather spend that money and day off work on a trip for just us two. I offered to pay, but he said it’s the principle of it. I want him to go since my family never really sees him and family events are important to me. He comes from a smaller family that doesn’t place as much importance on family events so he doesn’t think it’s as important.
I don’t think either of us are in the wrong but I’m frustrated and need advice.
