Sub to identify Japanese characters?

I have a friend that got a mug from Japan that has a Japanese character on it. When I run it through ChatGPT it says it means Cow or Ox. Is there any sub I can submit a picture to and verify this? It doesn't seem right.

Trouble with reddit on Chrome. Upvotes disappear when I return from a post.

When I'm signed into my account on my desktop using the Chrome browser and I click on a post I'll usually upvote it after I've read it. When I use the back button to go back to the home page, all of my upvotes have disappeared. This only happens on desktop not mobile. Am I missing something? How do I make my upvotes stick?
