before i start this rant i just want to say i am diganosed autistic and have special interests that are very intense (i swearr this is related) and as soeone who spends a lot of their time around mostly nt people online or irl something that really really grinds my gears is the misuse of the word hyperfixation or special interest. no you do not have a "food hyperfixation" because you just like eating something(real thing ive seen before) you can just say fixation. it wont kill you. but you dont have a food hyperfixation.thats not how it works. as someone who has had both hyperfixations and special interests (since they arent the same!!) i really wish it was that simple. i keep seeing adverts saying that a drink or something of the sorts is their new "special interest" and its so annoying because ur not using the term right!! also another thing is when i see nt people say they are overstimulated as a joke. because yes everyone can be overstimulated at some point but if youre saying it as a joke it feels very demeaning as someone who gets very effected by being overstimulated :/ my last point since im rambling alot is how needohs are being treated like the next labubus now and how hard they are to get even tho before they were popular i noticed nd people getting made fun of for using them to help regulate. sorry this is not well formated but i needed to rant!!
