AITA for trying to clean?

Hi !

Here's the background.

I started to live with some roommates for a few months now, including one Ukrainian lady in her late-mid 50's. I'm an exchange student living in a Nordic country.

I found the flat on a Facebook group and everything looks very correct on the publication. On D-day of moving in, the landlord showed me around and gave me the key. She told me then that one roommate (the lady) does have some kind of allergies, and to not use laundry detergent at all because she was very sensitive to strong scents. I'm very much okay with it, I don't want to cause trouble and even less an allergy reaction because of that.

But the more time goes by, the more restrictions arrive. No more spray deodorant, no more perfume, and apparently even my body cream was smelling too strong. So I stopped using all of that because of her allergies, it's not her fault anyway.

One day it was my turn to clean the apartment, and the main toilet and washing machine were quite dirty, to the point of the corners of the washing machine were black of dust, as well as the inside of the compartment where you put the laundry detergent.

I went to buy a product, making sure to find something that doesn't smell too strong. I chose one written on it "No harsh smell". I thought it was okay.

IT WASN'T. Oh lord she was upset with me. I apologise to her, explaining that I thought it was okay, even showing her the product. But yeah, big no no.

Again, my turn to clean the floor, I directly asked her what kind of product to use to clean the floor. Water. Just water, no product. I was confused and completely lost. The floor to this day is still full of stains.

Here's my reaching point. I was sick last night and puke. Awfully, a bit of puke went on the toilet seat, but not a product to clean it. I won't use ONLY water to clean puke, water doesn't clean bacteria and all. So I used a tiny bit of that previous product that I diluted with a lot of water.

Oh geez what a mistake. She put a note on my door, saying that I shouldn't "poison the air" and that next time, she will call the police. Yes the police. Because I fucking dare clean the toilet seat.

I genuinely wanted to know if I was in the wrong here. I do know that no one controls having allergies. I am in the wrong to be a bit upset or it is genuine?

Thanks for reading all of that!
