Unmarried partner visa, priority, outside (EU), 35 working days!

After a long wait, which put such a strain on our relationship, and many tears, here are our dates!

17 March – biometrics

19 March – ECO

22 April – request for information (bank statements)

23 April – additional documents sent

29 April – "unable to make a decision within published visa processing times" delay email

7 May – after giving them a few days of leeway, we decided to call them in the morning. The woman on the phone was very lovely but didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. She told us she could only see the status of the application and that it was currently being worked on. She also said that once you get sent a 'request for information' email, the priority timeframe goes out of the window. She literally said, "it could take a week, or it could take a month". This was so despairing to hear! We were on edge the whole day and then...

WE GOT AN ACCEPTANCE EMAIL THAT EVENING! (17:36 UK time!)

Now, I don't know if calling miraculously helped by somehow pinging our case in their system, or what. But, it worked! We used this website to track working days from our biometrics. I would say maybe keep waiting until it is a couple of days after the SLA and then call.
