Im Brazilian,but I’ve lived in the USA with my mom for a year and a half before,tho she still lives there.
There is 3 years I left the USA because I was going through a hard time in school and at home with my mom
I really really want to medicine abroad (outside of Brazil)and for I’ve been living with my dad since I came back from the USA,while he was/is doing his phd in São Paulo (a bigger state) but he works in acre (literally in the middle of the Amazon,Th education there isn’t the best and I said I don’t wanna live there,since he doesn’t trust my mom,he said the only option is my uncle)

My uncle lives in ES (a smaller state than São Paulo but still okay!) but I know the education there really lacks,specially since I want to work in a competitive field,with competitive colleges (medicine abroad,or in the USA itself or in Europe since I have Italian citizenship).My relationship with him is pretty good,and I know life quality there is good,since it’s an beach city and all,but I really get worried for my education).

And there is my mom,who lives in the USA,with a lot of much better academic opportunities then even the city i live in SP.But my mom is unstable mentally and emotionally,a lot of the past few times I visited her we had conflicts and her mood how’s from 0 to a 100 very quickly.She’d rather see me as a friend than a daughter,but I know at least financially and academically she would give me the best support.

I have to choose this till may 20th,and i don’t know exactly what to choose.I feel like with both options I’d be sacrificing something (academically or possibly mentally)
Would y’all choose a more stable household or somewhere with better education and opportunities?

Im in high school,have a big decision to make by May 20th and I really help!I want to study medicine in the future outside of my home country ( Brazil) and I’m torn between two options:
Option 1: Stay in Brazil with my and go live with my Uncle
• Pros: Very stable and happy home life.I have a great relationship with my family there,life quality would be very good considering they live on the beach and prioritize wellness overall.
• Cons: I’m worried the schools aren't good enough for my goal of going to med school abroad
Option 2: Move to the USA to live with my Mom
• Pros: Much better academic resources and opportunities for my goals.
• Cons: My relationship with my mom is very difficult. Past experiences living with her were very high-stress and unstable. I didn't feel safe emotionally during my last visit due to family drama.
My Conflict: Is it worth trading a peaceful, stable home for better career opportunities? I’m worried that if I move to the USA for school, the stress at home will make it impossible for me to actually focus on my studies anyway.
Has anyone moved for school and regretted leaving a stable home? Or vice-versa?
TL;DR:Live with someone more stable,but less academic quality,or live with someone emotionally unstable and have access to better education?

Next month I’m gonna participate in a Brazilian math Olympics (OBMEP) and I really want study tips! Not just “study everyday” “don’t memorize formulas” etc,because I already do that
Is there any other tips that might help me?
