I was trying to get my crested gecko back in his vivarium after cleaning it for him and he hissed at me. Google says that I scared him (or threatened, annoyed) and now I feel really bad. It’s probably stupid to he so worked up over it, but I really don’t wanna scare him. I don’t interact with him a lot, so I don’t want the rare times that I handle him to be bad experiences for him, you know?
It’s so hard getting him in and out of his vivarium—it’s genuinely the worst part about cleaning it. I use the big box to keep him in during cleaning, because he likes to hide in the big logs and it is SO hard to get him out. I don’t keep the logs in the box, but I have to try and het him out. And then, when I’m putting him back in his vivarium, I put him in the small box, which is where he hissed at me. I genuinely don’t know how else I’m meant to get him in and out.
Can someone give me advice for next time I have to get him out? I promise, I KNOW that the way that I get him in and out is probably awful. And also, idk if me thinking about him hissing so much is valid or not.
