So i have a dilemma. My sister is 36 years old. She has always struggled with having a decent income. She is a waitress and alwayd has been, albeit not a very good one. Her income is under 1800 every month. She has a daughter who is 4. She has a boyfriend/ baby daddy that doesnt work and is addicted to pain meds. Now our parents died when we were young. I was 12 when my dad died and 14 when my mom died. She was 18 and 20 respectfully. She bought a small trailer house with her inheritance but over the years wear and tear due to negligence has multiple floors collapsing in where they have 2x4s going acroos room to the support beams because the subfloor is rotting with black mold. The roof is collapsing in on one side of the house. The plumbing leaks consistently in her house causing more damage and they have very all live in the living room because it the only stable floor and the only room that has AC. My 4 year old niece has already had multiple cavities. Now has an abcess tooth and my sister has refused to take her for the last month due to her fear of the dentist. She keeps making appointments and not going. Her boyfriend who has been abusive in the past refuses to do anything.
I have offered her a fresh start. I have a childhood friend that lives close by that said he willing to buy the house and land for 30k. Very good deal for the damage and work thatll need to be done. I have offered for her to move in with me and my wife where itll be rent free for 6 months. A fresh start because i live out of her state and childcare will be free because my wife or i will be there to watch my niece when my sister is working. Only caveat is that her boyfriend cant come. He doesnt work, clean and must have his drugs or he will be a menace. Plus i have a 2 year old.
She doesnt want to take our niece from her one set of grand parents who are amazing snd nothing like there son. But year round my sister lives in an unsafe environmemt and is refuses to do anything. The house is condemnable by all standards.
I have tried talking to her and she just says she doing her best. But her best isnt enough. Black mold is dangerous. Abcess teeth are dangerous. Drug addicted peoplr are dangerous. I have thought about calling CPS but that would destroy her. What do i do?
