Adderal/ADHD Meds?
I recently had my first psychotic break, which led to me getting a diagnosis of bipolar (even though Ive gotten multiple diagnoses, it seems bipolar is accurate). Unfortunately this resigning from my job. After voluntarily admitting myself, the doctors changed my medication completely, prescribing me Haldol and Zyprexa. They discontinued my ADHD Medication (10mg adderal). I understand this, as I’ve read that stimulants can lead to psychosis. I am frustrated though because I felt that helped me greatly in being able to feel productive enough to work in the first place.
I am now in a really deep hole of depression and am ruminating constantly on the past. This is what I felt like Adderal helped with the most. I feel extremely discouraged that I’ll be able to get back in my ADHD medication again. I am interested in hearing stories of others who have taken ADHD medication and medication for Bipolar. I am new to this community and hoping to find people who I can relate to. I am really discouraged from my experience in the psychiatric unit and with the doctors that I’ve seen thus far. I appreciate any replies!
