My workers comp nightmare
When I went to urgent care after my injury in all caps stated I never mentioned any previous trauma and downplayed my injury but I very specifically in a greatly detailed explanation told her what transpired...what makes it even worse at the time I didn't even know that the situation would devolve into such a complicated mess involving WC. Got a nasty cut at work on a food prep table that had raw chicken juices marinating on it constantly. I was treated with help from my general manager with the first aid kit in the office... cut for the most part healed up and thought the very minor stiffness and swelling was from arthritis and just using my hands all the time. 3 and half weeks later I wake up in agony my finger is alarmingly large so I went to urgent care...antibiotics didn't help and followed up with ortho...5 months later have a nice contracture and near constant pain and need surgery...if they only approved my claim my doctor mentioned I would most likely been back to work
