Anal fissure for 1 month, now pus + surgery advised… really scared, need honest experiences

Hey everyone,(24F)

I’ve been dealing with fissures for about a month now.

I’ve already consulted 3+ doctors and have been on different medications (including antibiotics), but things don’t seem to be improving.

Yesterday during an examination, the doctor noticed pus and now they’re suggesting surgery. I’m honestly scared af.

The pain while passing stool is already unbearable, and just thinking about surgery is giving me major anxiety.

They mentioned it’s a 15-minute laser procedure, but I don’t even know what to believe anymore.

I’m planning to get it done next week because I have exams starting from 22nd May.

I really need some honest advice:

Has anyone here gone through this surgery?

How painful is the recovery?

Is the healing time manageable (like within 1–2 weeks)?

Did it actually fix the problem long-term?

Any tips, experiences, or reassurance would really help right now. I feel pretty overwhelmed.
