Brick and mortar banks. Still have one?

Does anyone still have a brick and mortar bank? I have one because I've always had one, but they all stink. The local bank charges me ATM fees and INCOMING wire fees, which my brokerage never charges. These nickel and dime fees really irritate me. I'm not poor enough to pay bank fees.

I've circulated through 2 credit unions because In want to keep business local, but these CUs feel like the kids at my high school lunch table started a bank. National brokerages have much better service.

Should I just give up on local banks?

MSOs?

Has anyone sold to one of these new MSO investor group? One of them approached my small firm today, and I'm unsure what questions to ask.

edit: I'm less interested in commentary on ethics issues, which is a resolved question from yesterday. I'm more interested in the business part of this business structure.

Success story.

I have silver status, and I "linked" my wife's basic reservation to mine. As I understand it, the "link" gives her the ability to upgrade with me, and I can upgrade to economy plus within 24 hours of check-in with silver status. But I couldn't change my wife's seat because she has a separate reservation.

I called 1-800 reservation, and the agent confirmed us both economy plus both ways--out to hawaii and back 5 days later. Win

I was simultaneously on the united app with chat, which I usually do while I'm on hold with 1-800. Chat agent said, "no." Phone agent confirmed us both, both ways in economy plus. YMMV
