Am I wrong for wanting no shoes in the house?
My boyfriend and I just moved in together. Before even looking for places, I mentioned a few times that I am very much no shoes in the house kinda person because at his parents house, they wore shoes.
Also coincidentally, I wore shoes downstairs in my parents house because my dad ripped up all the tiles/carpet and we just had concrete and he wore his shoes in the house (mom hated it. We were all raised, including my dad to not have shoes in the house. Its cultural/just cleaner)
I never wore my shoes upstairs which still had carpet.
Now BF and I live togehter and about 70% of the time, he takes his shoes off. But the other time, he will walk on carpet, rugs, even in the bathroom.
I have serious allergies and skin issues since i was born so keeping a clean house helps significantly. Not to mention I like to walk barefoot and hate feeling dirt on my feet. And there have been times when his foot gets wet, and you can see the brown dirt footprint left behind.
The dog even gets his feet washed and brushed off before coming inside, and bathed every week so he stays relatively clean. Hes a poodle so no dog hair. I also do most of the cleaning since I work from home which i dont mind but sometimes it seems pointless when he'll wear shoes on a freshly mopped floor.
Boyfriend will also get in bed in his outside clothes(high pollen area) which is also like, a no for me but I havent said anything about that considering how hard no shoes is. Am I wrong for continuing to ask.
Am I wrong or being OCD or whatever?
