▲ 9 r/tea

I had these teas for a while, but decided to finally try them out. For the jasmine green, the dry leaves were small with a few buds, and along with jasmine having an orchid and mineral aroma. The moonlight jasmine was around twice the price and its leaves had a more grassy and stone fruit smell and looked much larger with more fuzzy spring buds. I brewed both in a beaker at 180 degrees fahrenheit for 3 minutes with 4 grams of leaves per 200 ml water. They lasted 1 good steep each. In terms of taste, the jasmine green had a lightly dewy sweet mineral and jasmine flavor but also a noticeable tannic taste, though that was lessened by using 3 grams of leaf instead. The moonlight jasmine tasted sweeter, but also had grassy and vegetal notes along with being smoother and more forgiving with changes in temperature or ratio of leaf to water. Ultimately, I think that the moonlight jasmine is a more balanced tea, whereas the jasmine green is a better daily drinker if you just want the jasmine flavor in your tea.
