Today’s Grooming experience
Edit to add…just got off with Pets Mart Corporate who told me that because I mentioned that this breed was the result of a greyhound, wolf hound and coyote, in 1870 they can not groom her. Guess we need DNA test for our dogs now!
Had to share my experience at in New Braunfels PetsMart today. I have an 8 year old Blue Lacy…she has been groomed at this location multiple times. As I was dropping her off I mentioned that her breed isn’t listed on their list of dogs. I shared that Lacy’s were bred by the Lacy brothers in 1870 from greyhounds, wolf hounds and wolves…I was wrong about the wolf, it was a coyote.
Left and got a call 5 minutes later that because she had wolf (coyote) they would not be able to groom her. I was also inform that the rabies vaccine is not effective in this breed. I went immediately to speak to a manager who agreed to do the grooming and comp the service. In looking back at the notes from previous appts, there was no mention of her ever being an issue! He called to tell me she was done, didn’t like the blow dryer or nail grinding but did fine and that I only needed to get her and we were done.
I arrived 20 minutes later to be told by another groomer that she would have to get a manager to bring my dog out. I asked why and she said she didn’t want to risk getting bit and getting rabies! Liberty has not once in 8 years bitten or even nipped at anyone.
A manager went and got my dog and apologized over and over.
Needless to say, that was my last visit to Pets Mart.
This groomer needs to be better educated!
