just because I’m masc doesn’t mean I want you to put down girly girls !
does anybody else experience this ??? there’s an older heterosexual male in one of my classes (like, just over a decade older than me) and he seems to think the way he speaks to me is a compliment (it very much is not)
we were discussing secondary school extracurricular activity and i made some comment about how the one thing i didn’t do was run for head girl. he proceeds to ask if i should have in the first place
i raise my eyebrow and i’m like ??? well probably not, i wouldn’t have enjoyed it …. hence why i didn’t
he goes “no, i mean, it’s just that you don’t really represent the average woman”
?????????????
i give him a look and he proceeds to go on some tangent about how my presentation, my interests etc are “atypical“ and “not what you’d expect“ but that “he means it in a good way”
i found it rather irritating as my style has so little to do with this ? i have so much in common with my fellow women. i find that so many men have such a generalised view of women that them being queer or alternative makes them a totally different species !!!
i’m not necessarily super masculine either, I just have a shoulder length mullet/wolf cut and favour jorts and a t shirt 😭
