I’m scared my parents won’t accept him due to his ethnicity.
I’m an Iraqi Arab Muslim girl and the person I’ve been talking to for a while is Indian. He’s genuinely such a good man — religious, respectful, has a job, treats me well, and wants to provide for me properly. His family would fully accept me and he’s ready to come to ask for my hand but I already know mine probably never will because he’s Indian.
My family is very strict and culture means a lot to them. I feel stuck because I love my family deeply, but I also don’t think it’s fair to reject someone purely because of ethnicity when he has the character and deen they would love their son in law for.
I’m scared of losing my family or the someone I genuinely see a future with. I don’t know what to do and it’s been tearing my heart apart especially knowing how much i want this person.
Have any other Muslim girls dealt with something similar, especially in Arab families? What did you do?
