I'm hoping this is the right place to ask for advice on this.

My husband and I got a used hiking carrier off Facebook marketplace and they said it was in great condition of course. However, part of the strap is torn and one of the hinges on the frame is broken.

Obviously, we aren't thrilled. My husband however thinks we can use some plastic glue to fix the hinge and it will still be safe. We could probably still sew The top of the strap and may not be a problem.

Wondering if anybody else has any experience with fixing these type of things and if it impacted the safety of the hiking carrier or not.

ETA: this is a kelty kids Ridgeline.
