We had a whole home heat pump system with GE air handler UUY36ZGDAB2 installed back in the summer of 2023 and have had drainage issues ever since. 2 weeks after install, our ceiling was ruined when the external drain pan filled due to poor leveling of the air handler preventing both proper draining and tripping of the water sensor. In 2024, the external pan kept filling and tripping the sensor during heat waves, but I chalked it up to the drain pipe clogging and thought I fixed it. Last summer, we had the same issue, and I noticed the unit was dripping from the corner and not draining through the perfectly clear drain pipe. I had the installer inspect the unit and they found a cracked internal drain pan and quoted me an arm and a leg to replace it (even with parts covered by the warrantee). My question is... what are the chances that they cracked the internal drain pan with poor handling in the install? It seems like this was the problem all along, but something they never caught.
