Any way to find what happened to my grandfather’s cars?
Hi all, apologies if this is not the right sub to post this in, if there is a better one please just let me know. My grandfather loved classic cars and had a few dozen in his possession when he passed and they were in various levels of repair. When he died he left everything to his wife (my mother’s step mother). She refused to give or sell any of them to my family and quietly sold them all and never gave any info on the details of the sale(s) (there is a lot of family drama that precedes this). I was wondering if there was any possible way I could use the information I know about these cars and consult any sort of public record? I took many pictures of his cars and I have the vin number for at least one of them (a 1957 Chevy bel air). Is this a hopeless search? If my mom knew where some of them were she would maybe consider making an offer for them. Just let me know what possible resources there are. Thanks!
