I built an app for monitoring and logging temperatures for individual restaurant owners. I have 3 free trials going now that finish at the end of May, so I want to start preparing for how to convert them to a paid plan.
I generally know I need an EIN and separate bank account for the business, but can I just safely sign up for an LLC for ~$50 on my state's website? Or do I need to talk to a CPA before starting that process to really know what kind of business entity I need and what tax classification I want, etc.? I'm trying to bootstrap this for cheap while focusing on learning from customers, but I don't want to back myself into a corner either.
I also have some expenses on my personal accounts dating back to November of last year that "could" relate to this business as I was testing things out at my house. How risky is it for me to just pay myself back from the business and do my own bookkeeping as opposed to hiring out?
