Has anyone else ever felt like they don’t truly belong in their own country?

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always felt disconnected from mine. The culture, the language, even the way people think and interact. I tried many times to fit in, but it never felt natural to me.

I’ve never even been abroad, yet I have this deep feeling that I would feel much more at home somewhere else. It’s a very strange and existential feeling, hard to explain.

I rarely talk about this because people here often interpret it as acting superior or rejecting where you come from, and that’s not how I feel at all. I recognize the good parts of my country and respect them. I just can’t fully feel like I belong here.
